Maputo Study Tour
South: Still looking Maputo Study Tour
In support of the exhibition South Facing by Ângela Ferreira, the Wits City Institute convened a study tour to Maputo, Mozambique. The tour provided an opportunity to visit significant buildings in the city and meet with local experts.

Andrew W. Mellon Chair of Critical Architecture and Humanities and Wits City Institute Director Noëleen Murray, together with artist and academic Ângela Ferreira, led a study tour to Maputo, Mozambique, in support of Ferreira’s exhibition South Facing. An invited group of Wits City Institute fellows participated in seminars and discussions, and visited cultural centres, art galleries and key architectural sites in Maputo, as well as the Centre for African Studies at the Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo.
